ANNUAL 5K COLOR RUN

Run for a Cause

Each spring, CASA of West CenLa kicks off Child Abuse Prevention Month with our annual 5K Color Run, a day filled with energy, laughter, and color! This family-friendly event brings together runners, walkers, and supporters of all ages to raise awareness for children in foster care across Beauregard and Vernon Parishes. Participants begin the race dressed in white and end covered in a vibrant array of colors - symbolizing hope, joy, and the difference we can make when our community comes together. Whether you run, walk, or cheer from the sidelines, every step supports advocacy for local children and families.

Thank you to our incredible sponsors, volunteers, and participants who make this colorful celebration possible each year. Together, we’re painting a brighter future for children in our community, one splash of color at a time!

CHILD ABUSE PREVENTION MONTH

Planting Hope, Protecting Futures

West-Cenla-Pinwheel.png

Every April, CASA of West CenLa joins communities across the nation in recognizing Child Abuse Prevention Month, a time to raise awareness and inspire action for children who need safe, nurturing homes. Throughout Beauregard and Vernon Parishes, bright blue pinwheel gardens bloom as a symbol of the happy, healthy childhoods every child deserves.

CASA partners with local organizations, municipalities, and businesses to “plant” pinwheels across West Central Louisiana, turning our towns blue in solidarity and support. City and parish leaders also sign proclamations declaring April as Child Abuse Prevention Month, reaffirming our shared commitment to protect and uplift children in our communities. Your participation, whether by planting a pinwheel, attending an event, or simply sharing our message, helps us shine a light on the need for advocacy and build a brighter, safer future for every child.

Standing Together for Children: Geaux Blue

What started as a single blue ribbon tied in memory of an abused child has grown into a national symbol of awareness, hope, and commitment to ending child abuse. CASA of West CenLa carries that message forward through Geaux Blue, a community-wide initiative that encourages individuals, families, and organizations to take a stand for children. Contact our team to learn how you can get involved!

Each Friday, we invite our community to wear blue or display blue ribbons in solidarity with children who have experienced abuse and neglect. By wearing blue, you’re not only raising awareness, you’re showing support for strong families, positive parenting, and the mission of CASA of West CenLa. Whether it’s a group of coworkers, a local business, a civic organization, or a classroom of students, every blue shirt and ribbon sends a powerful message: our community stands united to protect children and promote safe, nurturing homes.

Be Part of the Movement

Every event, every ribbon, every step taken helps raise awareness and support for children in foster care. CASA of West CenLa thrives because of passionate people like you - neighbors, families, and local partners who believe every child deserves a safe and loving home. Whether you join us at an event, volunteer, or plant pinwheels, your involvement helps create brighter futures for children in our community.
